In 1999, when we started treating our lakes with the Biological Solution Enzyme products our lakes were in an extremely unhealthy state due to previous management practices. In mid summer our lakes would develop a strong sewage odor and turn so black you could not see the bottom. After just one year of minimal treatment we noticed a reduction in odor and a reduction in the black layer deposit on the bottom of our lakes.

In 2000, we were late starting the treatment and because of the hot dry spring/summer our lakes (like many others in Colorado) produced an excessive algae bloom that killed over 1,000 fish. Even with a late start on treatment, we were able to control some of the algae odor in the lake that supplies our drinking water.

In 2001, we began the treatments in early spring and were able to control the algae bloom in most of the lakes. We did not lose any fish and the quality of our drinking water was improved significantly.

Year four, we started in early spring with a more aggressive treatment schedule. The year of 2002 turn out to be one of the most critical for our lakes. Due to the hottest and driest summer on record our lakes lost several feet of water depth. We were able to control the algae bloom in all the lakes and did not lose any fish. The black layer continues to subside in all our lakes and our bottom lake in the chain now has the appearance of an unspoiled alpine lake.
